8th Grade Teacher

“The very spring and root of honesty and virtue lie in good education.”

- Plutarch

William Hutt

I was born and raised in Redding, graduated from Enterprise High School and spent two years attending Shasta College. After getting married in 1986 I joined the U.S. Air Force and spent time on the East Coast and overseas. At the end of my enlistment, my wife and I moved back to Redding and I went to work in management and sales.

After attaining my teaching credential through Simpson College, I worked in the Cascade District until coming to Millville in 2002. The students and staff at Millville have become a second family. I consider it an honor to be a teacher at Millville and love the tight community and strong parent support which fosters a “student first” attitude here.

The greatest pride and joy in my life is my family. My wife owns and directs a local preschool. We have two wonderful children, a daughter and a son. I also have a grandchild thanks to my son and his wife. Sunday dinner with the family is the highlight of the week!

For fun I enjoy reading, shooting and hunting, camping, 4-wheeling, and have a hobby/side business laser engraving. Most weekends you will find me puttering around my shop, engraving on something, welding something, or playing amateur mechanic or gunsmith.
