Children need the opportunity to experience all that life has to offer. Millville School believes every student benefits and needs opportunities for expression through the arts.
We encourage student interest in music through weekly classes in music exploration. Primary students learn about the basic elements of music such as rhythm, beat, melody and harmony. Students in third grade learn how to play the recorder, while students in fourth grade begin instruction on trumpet and clarinet.
Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in Beginning or Advanced Band, based on their musical experience. Students in Beginning Band may participate with no previous musical experience while students who would like to join Advanced Band must try out to participate.
Music instruction begins early in the school year and continues through spring. Music students will perform at Millville’s Winter Program, the Redding Rodeo Parade and Millville’s Spring Concert.
