Hello! This is my 8th year teaching 5th grade at Millville School and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I’m so excited to be a part of the Millville teaching staff and love working with all students, whether it’s in the classroom or on the field/court.
I was born in Redding, CA and graduated from Central Valley High School in 1989. I attended Shasta College for two years and while there competed in cross country, volleyball, and basketball. From there, I transferred to Chico State where I obtained a BA Degree in Liberal Studies.
My first two years of teaching were at Upper Lake High School where I taught sophomores all day, in a self-contained class. Yes, I did learn a lot. The following year my family moved back to Redding where I taught a sixth grade class at Shasta Lake Elementary. I also coached soccer and basketball for the Jr. High and enjoyed everything about it.
I married my high school sweetheart, Brian, who is a math teacher for a Jr. High and together we have two wonderful children. Janelle is in her third year of college and is attending Menlo College where she is playing soccer and getting a Psychology degree. Brook is a freshman in college and is attending Southern Oregon where she is also playing soccer. Brook is undecided about her degree but is exploring different careers. She’s thinking Criminal Justice but we’ll see! They both are very excited for the upcoming sports seasons at their colleges where their dad and I will be spending many weekends.
If I’m not spending time with my family, I’m running, camping, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, taking photos, or just relaxing on the beach. I love the beach! I look forward to the years ahead. Go Roadrunners!
